    Passive Infrared Occupancy Sensing

    The PIR ( passive infrared) sensors work on a highly sensitive specialized lens to divide the field-of-view into sensor zones. The sensor detects the motion whenever a person passes through the zone and automatically switches on the lights which remain on as long as the motion is detected in the sensor zones. Since the technology is based on motion detection, the PIR sensing is superior in function and is immune to false triggering from vibrations, vibrations, inanimate objects, or movement in an adjacent corridor. Additionally, sensitivity can be adjusted for optimal performance.

    Walk-Through Mode

    The sensor comes with a built-in walk-through feature which switches off the lights after 90 seconds based on inactivity, reducing unnecessary energy consumption.

    Grace Occupancy Feature

    When the vacancy mode is on, the lights turn off in a room if it is vacant. The GLS-OIT-C-CN comes with a 15 second grace occupancy feature during which the lights in the room can be turned on again by simply waving at the sensor and triggering it.

    Ambient Light Recognition

    The GLS-OIT-C-CN comes equipped with a built-in photo sensor which detects the amount of ambient light in the room. When enabled, the photo sensor can override the occupancy sensor’s signal to turn on the lights, if the ambient light level is above a set threshold. This helps in daylight saving by preventing the lights from turning on when there is sufficient daylight in the room.

    Versatile Installation

    When mounted on the typical drywall or the drop tile ceiling, the GLS-OIR-C-CN seems like it's discreetly placed. It has been designed in a way that it can be mounted in a standard 4-inch octagon box or in a hole created with the help of the provided cutout template with ease. The sensor includes a built-in Cresnet connection for data and power and also an input for an optional external photosensor. The 5-pin Cresnet connector is detachable and helps in hassle-free wiring.


    The GLS-OIR-C-CN uses the extremely reliable Cresnet wired network for communication between devices. Cresnet provides a simple solution for configuring and wiring keypads and sensors as part of any complete Crestron system. It is the backbone of communications for Crestron lighting dimmers, keypads, shades, thermostats, and many other devices. This flexible 4-wire bus provides data communications and 24 Volts DC power for all of the devices on the Cresnet network.

    IR Remote

    The IR remote can be bought separately from the GLS-OIR-C-CN. This remote eliminates the need for a ladder when commissioning or setting up any system. The installer can simply stand underneath the sensor and use the remote to complete setup functions and fine-tune the sensor’s settings after installation. It helps in adjusting the sensitivity for vacancy and occupancy modes separately, enables or disables the walk-through mode, helps in changing settings for the timeout feature, can be used to turn the LEDs on or off, helps change the Cresnet ID and also comes with the factory reset option.
