About
Functionally sophisticated and refined, this center channel delivers vocals and instruments with purity and precision for totally convincing sound reproduction. A concentration of power and quality that facilitates absolutes enjoyment of our natural sound, with no compromise. Since 1983, many moments have marked the history of Sonus faber; the launch of the Olympica Collection 6 years ago is one of them. One of the first lines presented as a complete family of products, but above all, the very first one to feature original drivers, entirely designed in Sonus faber. Olympica Nova is the second generation of the iconic family of 2013, improved in its form and substance, imbued with the timeless values that inspired us in creating the original line. The result is a new Collection that embraces the most cutting-edge technologies that already enhance our most glorious creations.
For natural sound performance, Sonus faber designed Olympica Nova Center II as the perfect complement to the largest speakers of the Collection. Olympica Nova CII is the larger of two center channel loudspeakers in the Olympica Nova collection by Sonus faber. Feature-packed with a 3-way design, the Olympica Nova CII comes with two 180mm woofers for superior control in the lower frequencies in the music. The tweeter in the Olympica Nova CI features the DAD (Damped Apex Dome) technology on a 28mm silk dome diaphragm and a magnetic motor system that integrates "Neodymium Cap Design". The mid-woofer is derived from the Homage Tradition collection.

Benefits of Sonus faber Olympica NOVA CII Center Channel Speaker:
Organic Shape
The lack of flat and parallel walls improves enclosure performance and maintains the typical asymmetrical Lute shape of first generation Olympica. The asymmetrical shape of the cabinet is an original design concept that allows versatile positioning of the speakers to tune the bass response in any room. Inspired by nature, the lines follow the flow of a circular spiral motion, achieving a more organic cabinet structure. No longer just a functional element added to handle airflow, the reflex duct is now fully integrated into the cabinet, further improving the speed and transparency of sound.
Woofer
The woofer cone has been developed in cooperation with Kurtmueller and it's based on an exclusive sandwich construction technique: two external layers of cellulose pulp are combined with a layer of hi-tech syntactic foam in between. This low mass and hi rigidity cone construction allows for a perfect reproduction of the low frequencies while guaranteeing absolute tonal coherence with the midrange. This transducer is assembled in Italy.
Tweeter
The 28 mm silk soft dome tweeter features the DAD technology (Damped Apex Dome) that enhances the smoothness and extension in the high frequency by applying local dampening to the apex typically responsible for anti-phase behavior of soft dome diaphragms. The DAD structure has been totally redesigned; a solid piece of aluminum die-cast includes both arch and ring on the dome to increase the strength and accuracy of the system.
Midrange
The midrange is completely designed and developed in Sonus faber laboratories. Its cone is realized cooperating with Kurtmueller and represents the most advanced stage of the traditional Sonus faber recipe: an air dried non pressed blend of cellulose pulp and other natural fibers: kapok and kenaf. This natural drying process gives the diaphragm a slightly rough surface of varying density and contributes damping and distributing cone resonances while guaranteeing a natural sound, increased transparency and details. The precious phase-plug enhances the mid-hi frequencies emission while proudly stating that the Olympica Nova collection is "Made in Italy".
Crossover
The crossover network implements Paracross Topology, making the crossover less sensitive to radio-frequency interference, improving transient response and lowering noise floor. The filtering topology features new exclusive Clarity Cap capacitors, customized for Sonus faber.
Reflex Port
The solid piece of extruded aluminum that complete the Stealth Ultraflex system, an extremely low-turbulence porting system, is inherited from Homage Tradition models. Favoring the profile of sea waves, the structure facilitates airflow through the duct while controlling its speed and reducing the distortion-causing turbulence.
Wood
Just like the rest of the cabinet, the front baffle is made in the walnut or wenge hand-finished natural wood. The Sonus faber designers wished to pay homage to the most representative material of Sonus faber, making it even more of a standard-bearer.
Structural Rigidity
Similar to the Homage Tradition and Reference Collections, the walls are made with eight layers of bended wood, providing the cabinet with extreme rigidity. Inside the cabinet, carefully placed structural ribs are used as reinforcement to reduce vibration and to handle the overall power of the transducers movement.
Leather
The natural leather embellishes the tweeter and the pair of midranges and enriches the aesthetic rings around the woofers. Genuine Italian leather that, as per our brand's tradition, is applied by hand in the production department in Vicenza.
